About this camp

Teens participating in the iD Tech BattleBots® Camp will engineer their own robot champion using the VEX Robotics Design System and C++. The camp focuses on the craftsmanship of engineering combined with the excitement of a robotics championship. Students will customize, build, and wire a robot base with teammates, devising custom attachments like claw arms or battering rams. They will then program their robots with VEX C++ to tackle a gauntlet of challenges including racing, obstacle courses, and capture the flag. Campers will optimize their bot's hardware and software between competitions, gaining skills in robotics, programming, safety, and teamwork. The program offers hands-on learning in next-gen labs and opportunities to explore the prestigious Rice University campus.

What a typical day looks like

Day campers check in between 8:30-9am, participate in morning announcements and team-building, then engage in course work from 9:30am.
