About this camp

The MD Anderson CATALYST Summer Programs offer immersive, mentor-led research experiences for aspiring scientists across high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels. Participants engage in hands-on laboratory and/or clinical research projects in various areas of cancer research, including prevention, basic, biomedical, translational, and clinical research. The program emphasizes the development of critical thinking and communication skills through structured research projects, workshops, seminars, and a culminating poster symposium where trainees present their findings to the MD Anderson research community. A significant component of the program is the Cancer Biology Bootcamp, providing foundational knowledge in cancer biology and research methodologies. What a typical day looks like

Students typically work Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with one hour for lunch, engaging in hands-on research in MD Anderson laboratories under the guidance of a faculty mentor.
