Space Center U offers a one-of-a-kind STEM camp experience at NASA's official visitor center, providing unparalleled access to real NASA facilities and insights from space professionals.
Space Center University (Space Center U) offers an immersive, challenging space-themed experience inspired by real NASA missions. Designed for ages 11-18, participants can choose from different mission tracks tailored by age group and academic level. The program combines science and engineering with cognitive and tactile tasks, simulating astronaut training and real-world NASA experiences. Participants will learn about rocket science, engineer space habitats, and for ages 15-18, even train underwater like an astronaut to construct a mock-up airlock. The program emphasizes teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and adapting to unexpected situations, culminating in a graduation ceremony and certificate. Students will also get behind-the-scenes access to NASA Johnson Space Center and Rocket Park, and on select 5-day programs, interact live with an astronaut.
A typical day involves hands-on engineering challenges, real-world data collection, and project-based activities inspired by current space exploration, with daily lunch provided at The Food Lab.
This program is ideal for students aged 11-18 who are looking to explore careers in STEM fields and experience the challenges and excitement of space exploration.
