UHD Youth Camps offer a blend of academic rigor and playful exploration, providing a university-affiliated environment for hands-on STEM and coding education.
UHD Youth Camps, part of the Bright Minds Academy, offer engaging, hands-on learning experiences for middle school students aged 11-14 to dive into the world of STEM and coding. Participants will learn Python fundamentals, mastering core concepts like loops, conditionals, variables, and functions through building interactive programs and games. The curriculum is designed to foster creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking through various projects, allowing students to develop problem-solving skills and spark creativity as they create their own games with cool animations and interactive applications. Beyond coding, the camps may also explore robotics, where campers construct, code, and compete with their own robot designs, emphasizing teamwork and problem-solving. The program aims to balance learning with fun, ensuring kids stay engaged while developing real-world skills in a structured, university-affiliated environment.
A typical day at camp runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with an hour lunch break at noon (food not provided). It involves hands-on learning of Python programming, building interactive games and applications, and mastering core coding concepts.
This camp is best for curious middle school students (ages 11-14 for coding) who enjoy hands-on projects and are interested in exploring STEM fields, particularly coding and robotics.
